Start with the essentials

Three parts of a trip worth getting right.

Plan the route

Choose trips that fit your rig

Drive times, site length, hookups, access roads, and dog rules belong in the plan before you leave home.

Prepare the RV

Prevent the avoidable problems

Know your systems, inspect the wear points, and carry the parts that can save an entire travel day.

Bring the dog

Make the trip work for everyone

Look beyond a park's pet-friendly label to shade, space, trails, temperature, and the quality of the dog area.

What you'll find here

Two simple ways to plan a better trip.

Start with a place you want to go or a problem you want to solve. We share what worked, what didn't, and what we wish we had known before arrival.

Meet the crew

We're building the resource we wanted when we started RVing.

We're Kate, Kevin, and Ruby. We travel in a 44-foot fifth wheel, so we know that “RV-friendly” can mean very different things. Kevin studies every system and carries the spare part nobody thinks about. Kate plans the route and notices the details that make a stay worth repeating. Ruby handles campground quality control.

RVing with Ruby is where we're collecting the honest, practical information we have learned from hundreds of campground stays, one trip at a time.

Our rule: Tell people what the campground website forgot to mention.

Looking ahead

Custom RV trip planning.

Over time, we hope to turn what we learn planning our own routes into practical trip-planning help for other RV travelers. For now, we are focused on building useful destination guides and RV know-how.
